Emergency First Aid offers instruction on how to think, react and improvise when dealing with life threatening emergencies.

- Body systems
- Airway emergencies
- Breathing emergencies
- Cardiovascular emergencies
- CPR
- First Aid for strokes
- Bleeding management
- Shock
- Secondary assessment
Certification: Emergency First Aid includes CPR level B (for infants, children and adults) certification. Another level can be substituted if a participant requires a different level of CPR. Re-training is recommended every two years. |

COURSE DESCRIPTION
The Fitness First Aid course will provide the candidate with the knowledge and skills necessary to prevent, recognize and manage soft tissue, musculoskeletal and environmental injuries and medical emergencies.
COURSE CONTENT
Participants will learn about the following topics:
Soft Tissue Injuries
- Bleeding, shock and wounds
- Bruises, blisters and burns (tanning booths)
Musculoskeletal Injuries
- Factors associated with injury
- General injury guidelines
- Foot injuries (metatarsalagia, neuroma, plantar fasciitis)
- Lower leg injuries (stress fractures and shin splints)
- Knee and low back injuries
- Head, neck and spinal injuries
- Joint injuries (bursitis and tendonitis)
- Muscle cramps and soreness
- Strains, sprains, fractures and dislocations
- Use of ice and heat
Environmental Injuries
- Dehydration and heat illness
Medical Emergencies
- Seizure disorders
- Exercise and diabetes
- Allergic reactions to exercise
First Aid Kits
Certification: Upon completion of this course, the participant will receive a Life Consultants Certificate of Completion. Re-training is recommended every two years.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Standard First Aid is a comprehensive First Aid course which covers all areas included in Emergency First Aid.
COURSE CONTENT
In addition, participants will learn about the following topics:
- Injuries to the Head and Spine
- Musculoskeletal injuries, including broken bones, sprains, strains and dislocations, splinting and transporting an injured person
- Soft tissue injuries, including bruises, cuts and scrapes, impaled objects, bandaging, internal injuries and burns
- Sudden medical conditions, including diabetic emergencies, convulsions, heat exhaustion and heat stroke, hypothermia, childbirth
- Poisons inculding anaphylactic shock
Certification: Standard First Aid includes CPR B (for infants, children and adults) certification. Another level can be substituted if a participant requires a different level of CPR. Retraining is recommended every two years. |
